About We Led

Welcome to We Led, a platform dedicated to empowering women in politics. We provide the resources and support women need to step into leadership roles and drive meaningful change. Here, you’ll find inspiring stories, practical tools, and opportunities to get involved.

We also confront the issue of proxy leadership, where women hold positions in name but not in power. Breaking this pattern is vital for women to exercise real political agency. With the Women’s Reservation Act set to take effect in 2029, ensuring that women lead with genuine autonomy has never been more urgent. Join us as we elevate women’s voices, dismantle systemic barriers, and build a more inclusive political future.

We believe in the power of women to lead, inspire, and transform the world. All women have the potential to embrace who they are, define their future, and make a significant impact in society.

Our Mission

From the  Founder's desk

Having seen closely how women struggle in political spaces, I know how damaging proxy leadership has been to India’s democracy. As we move toward 2029, when women will receive 33% reservation in Parliament and State Assemblies, we cannot afford to repeat the mistakes made during local self-government reservations—where women got seats, but too often, not real power.

This moment demands preparation. We must equip women with the skills, confidence, and political literacy they need to claim leadership on their own terms. At We Led, our focus is simple: empowering the next generation of women leaders so they enter these spaces not as proxies, but as powerful, independent decision-makers.

I am confident that the next generation of women will move beyond symbolic presence to claim genuine participation in electoral spaces. A Viksit Bharat rests on women’s equal, active, and decisive participation in democracy.
